WhatsApp has introduced a new feature Silence Unknown Callers that allows users to silence spam calls from unknown contacts.
WhatsApp has made it easier for users to reject unwanted calls by introducing a new feature that silences spam calls from unknown contacts. The feature, which was announced last week, is available on the stable versions of WhatsApp for mobile apps on both Android and iOS. Calls from unknown numbers will still be visible in the call history, so users will still be able to see if they missed a call.
While users will still receive notifications for missed calls from unknown numbers, silencing these calls will prevent them from ringing, which can help to avoid disturbances.
By default, this feature is disabled. If you want to silence calls from unknown numbers on your WhatsApp calls, you can follow these steps:
Once you have followed these steps, calls from unknown numbers will be silenced. You will still receive notifications for these calls, but they will not ring.
Alternatively, users can choose to save unknown numbers to their contact lists if they do not want to miss important calls from known numbers that are not saved.
Note: If you call or message the silenced caller, you won’t be able to silence their calls in future.
